How To: Follow Trends Without Breaking The Bank

Happy Tuesday! :)

It's not a secret around here that we absolutely love shopping... plus, it's kinda hard not to want to test out the newest trends that everyone goes crazy for. But at the same time we can't always spend all our money on shopping, right? Thankfully, Catherine has come up with ways to follow trends without breaking the bank:

Be Trendy With Our Proposals

Fashion is always changing, but it does not mean that we should blindly follow its trends. One of the rules for buying good and stylish clothes for little money is to maximize the durability of wearing clothes you bought. This does not mean that it should be up to sew holes or keep walking in the same clothes for ages. Just follow few simple tricks:

 1. Buy high-quality clothing. Better to buy one dress instead of five, but that will last a really long time. You can start practicing individual tailoring. This option is really expensive, but a good seamstress sewed clothes will serve you more than one season.

2. Think 100 times before you throw away or give someone a boring dress or an accessory. After some time, there are certainly things that can be combined.

3. Every month you can buy a new thing for the basic wardrobe + accessory. Best place to buy dresses, jeans or pants and top. When buying accessories you should look for belts, gloves, scarves. Decorations here are in last place. If you're on a budget, it's best not to buy jewelry, and spend money on clothes. Amazing tips, right?!

Now that I am in my twenties, I'm really trying to make sure I buy quality items -- I think it's important to invest in items that are versatile and will last a long time.

What do you guys think of these tips?
Are there other ones you would like to add?

I hope you are all having a wonderful week! :D

  6. Investment pieces are always a good idea. I'd rather have a few beautiful leather bags that will last forever than a bunch of cheap plastic ones which fall apart!

  7. These are some awesome tips :D I do need to invest a little in a black dress. I wear it all the time and I don't even have one that is elegant and classy, I should tell myself it will last a long time :P I do think like a hundred time when I want to give away clothes, then i ended up cutting it in some way or making it into pjs :P haha i know that sounds horrible! :P the last tip is something I will have to remember for the future :) Thanks mimi!
